- Motorola has now officially announced the launch of another Android based phone - Motorola Cliq aka Motorola Dext .
Even though the rumors of an Android phone from Motorola was making rounds over the internet for quite a long time, they mostly pointed out towards Motorola Morisson. However, surprising all, Motorola has come up with another Android Package, that of Motorola Cliq (Motorola Dext)!
- Motorola Cliq (Dext) features a slide out full QWERTY keyboard with a directional pad to the left of the keyboard.
Motorola Cliq (Dext) also comes with a touchscreen (capacitive) and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Must say that 3.5mm headphone jack has now become a de-facto standard for all upcoming mobile phones these days!
In terms of connectivity, Motorola Cliq (Dext) supports Wi-Fi, 3G as well as GPS for guidance.
- But the main highlight of Motorola Cliq (Dext) is its user interface - Motorola Blur, which is an in-house developed Android UI from Motorola. Motorola Blur mixes in most of the social networking Apps/Widgets on to the main pages of the menu. Also, from the home page of Motorola Cliq, you will even be able to see your friends updates on Facebook, emails from GMail, Yahoo, music from Last.FM and information from MySpace as well as Twitter!
Motorola DEXT also works with the cloud and has a cloud backup feature that grabs all your contacts, messages, settings etc… and backs them up online (Isnt this similar to Windows Mobile 6.5 cloud feature?!).
From the online interface you can also activate the GPS remotely to track down your lost or stolen phone!
Motorola has named this mobile phone officially as Motorola Cliq in US running on T-Mobile while in UK, it will run with the brand name Motorola Dext under the Orange flagship.
CLIQ will be available in two colors Titanium and Winter White .
Price and exact launch date of the device are yet to be announced.
